It all begins with an idea. Refresh Our Heroes has tossed around ideas for two years before the idea of the Mobile food pantry.

The BIG question was how can we support our community in areas with the most need? We connected with Low Country food bank in the summer of 2022, and the plans began. Volunteers of all ages from the Seventh Day Adventist church came forward to put in their time to get Refresh up and running. By the time December rolled around we were ready to head out to our first location. The number of volunteers that showed up was simply astonishing to see. The amount of people who showed up to receive groceries of non-perishable items and fresh produces, breads, and deserts.

Refresh has been on the road now every Wednesday for a year and continue to serve much needed food to our communities in Bucksport, Finklea, Atlantic Beach, Myrtle Beach, and on the first Sunday of the month at our home Church, Seventh Day Adventist. In one years’, time Refresh Mobile Food pantry has served over 5000 individuals. We hope to continue to serve in 2024 and we pray that others out there will see the impact we make on the community and willingly donate to help us make a difference!!
